ANCHOR BEND

This is also called the fisherman’s bend. You can use it to connect something to a ring. It is particularly effective if the ropes are wet or slippery.

STEP 1

Make a round turn around the ring.

STEP 2

Pass the running end above the standing end and then put it through the inside of the round turn.

STEP 3

Make a half hitch using the free strand.

STEP 4

Tighten securely.
