The Blessed Birth

About fifty days passed since Abraha attacked the Ka’ba. It was Monday, April 20th, 571. Dawn was about to break and the soon to be beloved Muhammad was about to enter the world. When his mother Amina was about to give birth, she heard an extremely loud and terrifying sound. When white birds came and stroked her back, her fear and grief vanished. As soon as she drank the sherbet that was served in a white bowl, her body was filled with heavenly light. Muhammad, the Pride of Humanity, peace and blessings be upon him, then came into this world.

When the beloved mother Amina heard and saw that she had given birth, she sat up straight to see her beloved newborn only to see him prostrating. This had to be an implication of some sort. The midwife, Shifa, who was present at the birth, heard him saying, “My Ummah, my Ummah!” Also, his index finger was lifted. Suddenly, the room was lit up and the whole world was filled with light. The stars in the sky had been lying in bunches and seemed as if they were raining on them. The mark between his shoulder blades had caught everyone’s attention. The mark woven with black and yellow hair was the seal of Prophethood of the last Prophet expected in the near future.

Immediately after the blessed birth, the glad tidings were delivered to the Prophet’s grandfather. Abdul Muttalib, who was at the Ka’ba when it happened, came home running. He took his grandson in his arms. He kissed him and loved him. He could not stop his tears. When it came to naming the baby, the respected Amina told Abdul Muttalib about the dream she had when she was pregnant and they named the rose-scented baby “Muhammad.” Then Abdul Muttalib, with the orphan of his most beloved son Abdullah, went to the Ka’ba to thank to his Lord. His blessed grandson was sitting on his lap. The Ka’ba, the house of Allah, had met for the first time with Allah’s most beloved servant.

The wonders that took place during the birth of the Master of mankind were not limited to the inside of the house. First, Mecca was shaken by the news that the idols in the Ka’ba fell head first to the ground that night. Nobody knew by whom and how this could have even happened. Then, one after the other, the news began to spread in various different places. The experiences were practically saying in their own languages, “Welcome!” to the last Sultan. The night of the blessed birth, a new star had shone and a Jewish scholar saw it dealing with the knowledge of stars in Mecca. In the morning, cutting off the path of Quraysh, he asked, “Has a male child been born in your tribe last night?”

Nobody had any idea yet that Abdul Muttalib’s daughter in law, Amina, had given birth.

“We don’t know of any,” they answered.

The Jewish scholar said, “Then go and find out. Last night and this morning, the star of the last Prophet shone. There will be the seal of Prophethood on his back.”

The Quraysh investigated the news and came back to the Jew and said, “Yes, Abdullah from our tribe had a son last night. In addition to this, he has the seal on his back.”

The Jew, who could not believe his ears, wished to go and see the blessed baby. Coming into his presence, he felt as though he was going crazy when he also saw the seal of Prophethood on his back. While quickly running away, he was shouting, “The Quraysh will receive such a state in the future that the news will spread everywhere, from east to west. Prophethood is now gone from the children of Israel, it’s gone!”

The news that came from Iran, one of the greatest states in its time was interesting. Four towers of the palace of the Persian Ruler (Kisra), which were pretty strong, cracked and collapsed the minute the Master was born. Both the Persian Ruler and the people waited for morning to understand what was happening. When dawn came, they saw in horror that fourteen of the strong towers collapsed. The Persian Ruler called the clergy and asked what was happening. Just when the clergy arrived, a Messenger could be seen in the distance. That same night, flame of the fire worshipping Iranians, which had not extinguished for centuries, was also extinguished. While his eyes grew wider with excitement, the Persian Ruler asked his head judge, “What does it all mean?”

The head judge had also seen an interesting dream recently. With a thoughtful tone in his voice, he said, “It seems that important tasks will be accomplished by Arabs.”

They then sought after somebody and found one to resolve the situation. After listening to what was happening, a scholar named Satih, who lives in Damascus said, “Revelation will start descending from the heaven and the Last Prophet will arrive, and the Persian Ruler will lose his kingship.”

Indeed, sixty-seven years later, the news that was being reported was exactly what the scholar had described.
