FROM THE AUTHOR

This book, like the first in this series, Love & Redemption, took me on a path I did not expect. I had the general premise of it in my mind—that of Amber coming to find Michael and instead, marrying Patrick Finnegan. But my initial thought of how that would happen changed the longer I worked on it. Four re-edits later what emerged as I typed that last word was something far greater than I had expected.

This is a story of life, a girl society looked down on and ignored finding eternal life in the arms of the Savior. It is also a story of deliverance. God reaching out and cleaning her on the inside, placing her in a better place than she could dream with a husband who loved her, free of her past, and the hope of a glorious future before her.

I did not model this story after any particular tale in real life or the Bible, as I’ve said it turned a different direction from what I originally planned. I also did not know I’d use the words of Amazing Grace to frame Patrick’s healing. Neither did I know it would come when he chose to forgive his father.

As a Christian writer, that was one of those rare moments when I knew God touched the page. Because I struggled with this book, determined, however, to finish it and I am glad now I did.

God bless all who read this book. I hope it makes you think as much as it brings you enjoyment.
