1“And in the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a holy assembly. You shall not do any act of work. You shall have a day of horn-blasting.
29:1. seventh month on the first of the month. This is the holiday that later came to be known as Rosh Hashanah, the New Year. It is never called by that name in the Torah, where it is rather counted as the seventh month.
2And you shall do a burnt offering for a pleasant smell for YHWH: one bull of the cattle, one ram, seven unblemished one-year-old lambs,
3and their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three tenths for a bull, two tenths for a ram,
4and one tenth for each lamb, for the seven lambs,
5and one goat for a sin offering to make atonement over you,
6aside from the burnt offering of the new month and its grain offering and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and their libations as required, for a pleasant smell, an offering by fire to YHWH.
7“And on the tenth of this seventh month you shall have a holy assembly. And you shall degrade yourselves. You shall not do any act of work.
29:7. on the tenth of this seventh month. This is the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.
8And you shall bring forward a burnt offering to YHWH for a pleasant smell: you shall have one bull of the cattle, one ram, seven unblemished one-year-old lambs,
9and their grain offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three tenths for a bull, two tenths for one ram,
10one tenth for each lamb, for the seven lambs,
11one goat for a sin offering, aside from the sin offering of atonement and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and their libations.
12“And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy assembly. You shall not do any act of work. And you shall celebrate a holiday for YHWH for seven days.
13And you shall bring forward a burnt offering, an offering by fire for a pleasant smell to YHWH: thirteen bulls of the cattle, two rams, fourteen one-year-old lambs. They shall be unblemished.
14And their grain offering shall be fine flour mixed with oil, three tenths for each bull, for thirteen bulls, two tenths for each ram, for two rams,
15and one tenth for each lamb, for fourteen lambs,
16and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its libation.
17“And on the second day: twelve bulls of the cattle, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs
18and their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number as required,
19and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and their libations.
20“And on the third day: eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs
21and their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number as required,
22and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and its libation.
23“And on the fourth day: ten bulls, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs,
24their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number as required,
25and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its libation.
26“And on the fifth day: nine bulls, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs
27and their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number as required,
28and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and its libation.
29“And on the sixth day: eight bulls, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs
30and their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number as required,
31and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its libations.
32“And on the seventh day: seven bulls, two rams, fourteen unblemished one-year-old lambs
33and their grain offering and their libations for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs by their number according to their requirement,
34and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering, its grain offering, and its libation.
35“On the eighth day you shall have a convocation. You shall not do any act of work.
36And you shall bring forward a burnt offering, an offering by fire, a pleasant smell to YHWH: one bull, one ram, seven unblemished one-year-old lambs,
37their grain offering and their libations for the bull, for the ram, and for the lambs by their number as required,
38and one goat for a sin offering, aside from the continual burnt offering and its grain offering and its libation.
39“You shall do these for YHWH at your appointed times, aside from your vows and your contributions for your burnt offerings and for your grain offerings and for your libations and for your peace offerings.”
