Royal Christmas Snowflakes
Equipment:
- White paper in a square, sizes 8x8, 10x10, 12x12
- Scissors
- Red felt tip pen
Directions:
- If you’re starting with regular 8.5 x 11 paper, just fold it into a triangle and cut off the excess to make your square.
- Take your square piece of paper and fold it into a triangle.
- Fold into another triangle.
- With this triangle, fold in thirds. First, fold the right edge toward the middle. Flip the snowflake over and do the same on the other side, folding the edge just to the middle, leaving you with two loose tips at the top.
- Cut off the loose tips at the top, leaving you with just a triangle you fold into one last triangle.
- Start making your cuts! You can also sketch them out first, if you like.
- The beauty of making snowflakes is no two are the same, so be sure to try new things!
- TIP: If you’re someone (like me) who needs to learn visually, there are lots of great videos online showing you how.
- Once your snowflake is finished, write one word on it with your red pen about what Christmas means to you (and I like to date it). Continue until you have a whole collection of snowflakes that have a special meaning for you.
- Hang with ribbon or string on your Christmas tree to always remember what truly matters most at Christmas.
- TIP: If you’re having a party, you can make the snowflakes as fabulous party gifts and encourage everyone to write down what matters most to them to take home for their own Christmas trees.
