Decorative Gift Tags

There is no better way to present your birthday gifts than with a beautiful handmade gift tag crafted from decorative papers and ribbons.

Time: 30 minutes

Difficulty: Easy peasy

You Will Need

Co-ordinating patterned papers

Cream card size A4 (US letter)

Scraps of floral fabrics

Ric rac, narrow ribbon and button embellishments

1. Cut identical tag shapes measuring 6cm × 12cm (2³⁄₈in × 4³⁄₄in) from a selection of co-ordinating patterned papers.

2. Use small pieces of floral fabric, ribbons, ric rac and buttons to decorate each tag. Stitch or glue the embellishments directly onto the paper tag shapes.

3. Sew around the outside edge of each tag shape using straight machine stitch with a co-ordinating colour thread.

4. Mount the paper tags onto cream card using double-sided tape and trim the edges. Punch a hole in the top of each tag and thread with a co-ordinating ribbon.
