To celebrate baby’s arrival bake up a batch of cookies shaped as little baby bodysuits. You could also make these adorable cookies in pink for a baby girl.
Time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy peasy
You Will Need
Batch of cookie dough
White royal icing
Blue or pink food colourings
Disposable piping bags
No. 2 piping nozzle
Squeeze bottles
1. Roll out the cookie dough to 5mm (3⁄16in) and use a small knife to cut out the cookies into the bodysuit shape using the onesie template as a guide. Bake according to your recipe, then leave to cool completely before decorating.
2. Equally divide the royal icing into two bowls. Leaving one half white, colour the other half with blue or pink food colouring.
3. Using half of each batch of royal icing, fill disposable piping bags fitted with no. 2 piping nozzle. Add a few drops of water to the remaining royal icing and mix until a runny consistency is achieved. Fill squeeze bottles with the runny royal icing. Pipe royal icing from the piping bag around the edge of each cookie. Fill the piped outline with the runny royal icing from the squeeze bottle, using a cocktail stick to guide the icing into empty spaces or to pop any air bubbles.
4. Once each cookie is filled, squeeze little dots of another colour of the runny royal icing onto the wet icing to achieve the polka dot effect.
5. Leave the cookies to dry for 3–4 hours before piping the garment details on the top of the cookies.
