Pumpkin Brooches

BY SUE BURLEY

These pumpkin brooches make the ideal addition to any Halloween outfit. Alternatively, they could be attached to a hair clip or a headband if you prefer.

Time: 1 hour

Difficulty: Easy peasy

You Will Need

Orange and black felt

Black stranded cotton (floss)

Black buttons

Toy filling

Brooch pins

1. Use the templates to cut out two pumpkins from the orange felt for each pumpkin and your choice of mouth, and eyes and nose from black felt. (If you prefer you could use two black buttons for the eyes.)

2. Using two strands of the embroidery thread, sew or glue the eyes, nose and mouth onto one of the pumpkin pieces.

3. Place the two pumpkin pieces together with the front facing up, and sew together around the edges with blanket stitch, leaving a small gap for stuffing.

4. Use the toy filling to stuff your pumpkins. When they are as plump as you want, sew the gap closed. Sew the brooch pins onto the back of the pumpkins to finish.
