Patchwork Stars

BY ANNA WILSON

These patchwork-style star decorations are made from patterned papers, glitter, ribbon and buttons and are perfect to top your Christmas tree.

Time: 1 hour

Difficulty: Easy peasy

You Will Need

Patterned papers

Medium-weight card

Polyester filling

Glitter glue

Ribbons

Buttons

1. Print out the rhombus template and add a tab to one of the sides on the bottom triangle. Glue to a piece of card and cut out.

2. Using the card template, cut out 12 rhombuses from your chosen papers for each star. You will be making two patchwork stars for each decoration, one for the back and one for the front. Stick six rhombuses together to make a star using narrow double-sided tape on the tabs. Repeat to make a second star.

3. Place strips of double-sided tape along the edges of the back of one of the patchwork stars. Place a small amount of polyester filling in the middle of the star, then remove the backing from the double-sided tape and put the other patchwork star on top, wrong side facing down, pressing firmly to stick the two stars together.

4. Punch a hole in one of the points and thread a piece of ribbon through for hanging.

5. Embellish the front and back of the patchwork star decoration with buttons and glitter glue.
