When you notice a new tension, you should realise three things:

1. You do not have to change anything.

2. You do not have to explain anything.

3. You do not have to judge anything.

To relax, you do not have to do anything. Even just noticing and accepting the tension often works wonders. You also do not have to root out the cause of the tension. Just allow yourself to be tense. Know that you do not have to judge how the tension affects you. Let the tension be tension – and notice how that makes the tension pass on its own.
