About the Author

After experiencing firsthand the complexities of planning her own wedding in France from a distance in 2000, Kimberley Petyt decided to create Parisian Events, a wedding and event-planning agency catering to English-speakers in Paris. With more than ten years of experience planning corporate and social events in both the United States and France, Petyt has become a true Paris insider. She writes the popular blog Parisian Party: Tales of an American Wedding Planner in Paris (parisianevents.com/parisianparty/), which was voted 2010 Best International Wedding Blog by AOL’s wedding website, Aisledash.com.

Petyt is known to be a preeminent resource for planning a wedding or special event in Paris. Since founding Parisian Events in 2005, both Petyt and the business have received international attention, including appearances on international television, and references in print publications including Real Simple Weddings, Los Angeles Times, Essence Magazine, Eco-Beautiful Weddings, Long Island Bride & Groom, Cosmopolitan China, and France Magazine. Most recently, she was featured in the New York Times T Magazine “Summer 2011 Travel” issue, highlighting her skills as a cultural liaison for brides seeking to marry in Paris.
