Taser Fight

“Lost and Found girl? What does that even mean?” Tabitha asked.

“It’s a long story,” I said.

I couldn’t believe this was happening. Fifteen minutes ago, we had escaped from an axe murderer’s lair, and now we were about to be arrested by goofy hospital cops.

Watching Neck Tattoo and Muscle Guy Guard approach, I read their auras. Both of them were jacked up, but the colors of their auras told me they were worried. And rightfully so. Last time they saw me, a platoon of empty wheelchairs attacked them.

“This is my brother Mac Morton’s dog,” Tabitha told the men. “We have to—”

“Zip it!” Neck Tattoo ordered. “You kids are coming with us.”

I felt something stir in the air. A hint of electricity. There was no time to mess around. Instinctively, I knew what to do.

“No disrespect, gentlemen, but that’s not going to work for us,” I told the guards. “Here’s what’s going to happen. My friend and I are taking these two dogs into that elevator. And you guys are going to pretend you never saw us. Got it?”

“I’ll get this one, Tommy, you get the other one.” Muscle Guy Guard came at me. “We are hauling you to the Security Office, right now.”

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” I said.

As Muscle Guy Guard reached out to grab me, the craziest thing happened.

ZZZAAAPPP!!!

Neck Tattoo zapped his partner with roughly thirty thousand volts of electricity from a taser gun he pulled from his belt.

Muscle Guy Guard reared backward in agony, and yanked out a barb stuck to his right arm. “Ow! What the heck are you doing?”

Neck Tattoo looked baffled beyond belief. “I … I honestly don’t know.”

“It’ll only get worse, guys,” I said. “Be smart and let us go!”

But Muscle Guy Guard wasn’t smart.

When he reached for me again, Neck Tattoo zapped him a second time. The barb stuck to Muscle Guy Guard’s shirt and chest.

“Dude, sorry!” Neck Tattoo gaped at Muscles stupidly.

“Apology not accepted!” Drawing his own taser, Muscle Guy Guard shot Neck Tattoo. The fight was on. Jagged blue lines of electricity crackled between the two security guards as more barbs flew out from their tasers.

ZZZAAAPPP!!!

ZZZAAAPPP!!!

ZZZAAAPPP!!!

“Wow!” I said, walking with Tabitha to the elevators. “Your mom is electric!”

Tabitha grinned and pressed the up button.

After the doors opened, we slid inside.

Leon farted, loud and proud. Cosmo answered in kind.
