Chapter 34

I took a shower and cleaned up at my first home. It was two in the morning when I got there and I prayed the girls were sleep.

I snuck to the bathroom undetected, cleaned up and was gone with my new change of clothes on and my bloodied ones in a trash bag. I threw the trash bag in a dumpster and lit it.

I got home at three and was surprised to see cars and lights on. I walked in and headed to Spin’s downstairs office. I opened the door and saw him sitting at his desk. D-loc and Rod were lounging around the room in different seats. Clair was sitting on the small leather couch closest to the door. I ignored her ole goofy ass though I dared the bitch to say something to me because I was ready to take her ass down right then and there. I smelled weed and knew they were high.

“Daniel, Rodney, Clair,” I’d said her name and then rolled my eyes so she could see then turned to Spin. “Hey baby.” I walked around his desk and gave him a long kiss hoping Clair’s ass was watching.

“I thought you were upstairs.”

I shook my head, “One of the girls had a breakdown and I was needed.” Oh lying was so much simpler than murder. I sat on his desk, “What y’all doin’?”

Spin shrugged with a goofy smile on his face.

“Shit, chillin’,” D-loc said and I laughed.

“Y’all high ass bastards. I’m surprised y’all ain’t in the kitchen,” I said rolling my eyes.

“Fuck, that’s right you do have a kitchen,” Rod said getting out of his chair.

D-loc-who was sitting with his head on Spin’s desk-jumped up yelling, “Last one there.”

Spin leaped to his feet. “It’s my kitchen,” and they were gone, leaving me and Clair.

“Ain’t you supposed to be making the food or something?” I asked with a pleasant smile.

“No, your job is to be the slave while mine is to reap the benefits,” she said getting off the couch. “Now if you’ll excuse me I have to use the bathroom.”

Oh I was ready to hop off the desk and run across the room and hem that bitch up. But she walked out the room and I took that as she didn’t want none.

With a sigh my eyes traveled to where D-loc was sitting. On the desk was a handful of powder in a sandwich bag. I looked at the opened door and a bitches mind started going. King’s mom popped in my head. The difference was D-loc snorted where as she injected her shit. I didn’t know what snorting battery acid did nor how long it would take to work. Then I realized I didn’t just happen to have battery acid sitting around and the cars were too far. It’d take too long for me to get to the cars, try to figure out how to get some battery acid and be back with it.

The little shiesty, scandalous mind of mine was running wild. I looked around the room and stopped at Spin’s desk lamp and then another lamp across the room. Don’t ask me how I came up with this shit.

I took the bulb out quickly and took off my shoe. I grabbed my sock and put the bulb in there. I ran across the room and unscrewed another bulb. I put that one in the sock also and ran to Spin’s desk. I grabbed my shoe and started beating the bulbs to a pulp looking up and praying they’d take a while.

When I stopped hearing glass crunching I grabbed the bag of coke and emptied my sock into it. The tiny shards blended beautifully if I had to say so myself. I was shaking the bag to mix its contents when I heard something. I turned around and Clair was standing in the doorway.

“What are you doing?” she asked as I stood there looking guilty with D-loc’s bag of coke in my hand.

I swallowed hard knowing I was caught. I had no idea what to say, I’d been caught. Then something hit me. I was a grown ass woman and this was my house, I didn’t have to answer to this bitch. I fixed myself to tell her as much when the sound of Spin, D-loc and Rod laughing came to my ear as they walked in.

“Shi, put that down,” Spin said walking past me with a bag of chips and a plate of chicken. He kissed me on the cheek. “That shit’s bad fo’ you.”

“Who’s is this?” I asked trying to play it off. I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone. I realized I had no idea how much Clair had seen and she could and would surely bust me out. My heart was doing overtime.

“Loc’s” Spin said sitting behind his desk.

I shook my head and sat it down back where I’d got it from. D-loc grabbed the bag after he sat down a plate of chips with nacho cheese over it.

“You need to stop, that shit is bad for you,” I said trying to act like I was concerned.

“I know, it’s my last bag, I swear,” he said spilling a little on Spin’s desk.

My heart nearly stopped as I watched him form a line.

“Cuz, I told you not to put that shit on my desk,” Spin said through a mouth full of food from the seat behind his desk.

“Don’t trip, I’ma clean it all up.”

“That stuff’s gonna kill you,” I said swallowing the lump forming in my throat as I watched him snort the line and throw his head back. I was holding my breath as I thought the glass had already done something, I thought he had felt it but then he breathed in deep and brought his head back up smiling and rubbing his nose.

I let the breath I was holding out thinking glass on the brain is not good. I couldn’t help but wondering how long it would be before I saw any signs that the glass was affecting his brain and exactly how it would do so. I was really hoping the glass would kill him before I had to put one in ‘em.
