The fog has caused many marine disasters in the Bay of Fundy: the brig Glide in 1855, the barque Mauvourneen in 1866, the tug Gypsum Kin in 1899. The Murr Ledges off Grand Manan Island are the resting place of many a ship that failed to find her way in the dense fog.
