Now you have a firm foundation in the elements, a working understanding of visualization and energy work, tools for living magically and consciously every day, and some solid practice under your belt. Congratulations! You’re ready to work spells and rituals that will help you align with and manifest your desires. And here, in part 2, you’ll find plenty of ideas for how to do just that.
If you feel that you could use one of these spells right this second, go ahead: do it. Otherwise, file it away in your mind for future use or come back to it if and when it’s needed. And, of course, if you’re comfortable crafting your own rituals and spells, you can use these as springboards for your own wonderful creations. Just remember to seek out the magical jolt and inspirational juice; in other words, if it feels powerful for you (provided it doesn’t hurt anyone or unfairly encroach upon anyone’s free will), go for it!
Chanting charms or invocations from memory (rather than from a written page) can be an extremely magical act. This is because memorizing something is a way of harmonizing yourself with its essence and making it your own. And because everything is energy and you always get out of magic what you put into it (albeit in a different form), the act of memorizing can be like an act of devotion: an offering of effort and energy to the Universe (or to the deity or being to whom you are chanting) on the same level as burning incense, singing, or lighting a candle. It’s also a fun way to increase your magical repertoire, which in turn expands your magical expertise.
As noted in previous chapters, if you choose to do a ritual containing a chant or invocation and you’re in a situation where you feel comfortable speaking the words aloud, please do so. Otherwise, go ahead and simply think them.
