AS A JOURNALIST, PHILIP YORKE covered major news stories and published hard-hitting investigations. His work won awards and often set news agendas.
In recent years, he has become an author writing historical fiction novels about the brutal and bloody English Civil Wars of the seventeenth century. Both of his published books have received widespread critical acclaim and are sold all over the world. He is currently researching and writing the third part of The Hacker Chronicles , the five-book series about the extraordinary life of Francis Hacker, one of the three men who signed the execution warrant of King Charles the First.
Philip has a long association with FareShare UK, a charity committed to tackling food poverty and food waste. He is a passionate supporter of the charity’s values. Some of the profits from Sunshine on my mind will be donated to support FareShare’s important work in Hull and the surrounding East Yorkshire area.
Married to Julie, with whom he has five children, Philip remains a devoted and optimistic Hull City fan, attending matches whenever he can.
