WRITING PROMPTS

1. Kenny’s dad took karate lessons because he, too, had trouble controlling his anger. Pick a person in your family and write about how you are like that person.
2. When he’s counting people getting off the bus (on pages 47–49), Kenny sees lots of different people. Choose one of the people he sees. Write a story about what that person is doing that day. Don’t forget to give the person a name!
3. Kenny wins the karate tournament. What do you think happens next? Write about it!
