DAN WARD retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force after spending more than two decades researching, developing, designing, testing, and fielding military equipment. He holds three engineering degrees and specializes in rapid, low-cost innovation. His assignments include the Air Force Research Lab, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Pentagon, and International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan. Dan was awarded the Master Acquisition Badge and the Command Space Badge. In 2012, he received the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Afghanistan. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two daughters.
