Over the last few days, Searchlight has become a morbid curiosity worldwide, beginning with the animal attack on a pregnant woman and her six-year-old son and continuing with the suicide of one of the witnesses and the disappearance of the son of a Las Vegas Metropolitan policeman in the desert. The search for the missing boy led authorities to a truly remarkable discovery of a large desert cave that locals insist sprung up overnight. I don't need to remind our viewers that in the days that followed we've seen the story take a turn that no one was expecting. Not only was the first person to be lowered into the cave killed, but the helmet camera worn by the victim revealed an animal that experts worldwide can scarcely identify.

"I'm standing only several yards from the cave itself where the missing boy, Joseph Phinney, was recovered just hours ago. And from the ashes of such a terrible tragedy, a scientific discovery is poised to shock the world. We're joined now by Dr.(NAME CENSORED). Doctor, what exactly is about to happen here in Searchlight, Nevada?"

Voice of Dr.(NAME CENSORED) : Well, (NAME CENSORED) just feet from where we're standing, our team of experts has just retrieved from the cave the body of an animal that moments ago we had no idea existed.

"Is there any connection between this animal and the animal caught on tape by the attack victim's helmet camera?"

Voice of Dr.(NAME CENSORED) : "We don't think so. The body we have is not consistent with the images captured by the helmet camera. This animal is much larger."

"And exactly what is it that your team has discovered, Doctor?"

Voice of Dr.(NAME CENSORED) : "Well, to be quite frank, the animal is most similar to a certain species of dinosaur."

"Dr. (NAME CENSORED), are you saying your team has found a dinosaur beneath the Nevada desert?"

Voice of Dr.(NAME CENSORED): "It's still quite early, but initial assessments seem to suggest that the animal closely resembles several dinosaur species that we know of."

"Doctor, when can we see the animal?"

Voice of Dr.(NAME CENSORED): "As soon as we've had a good look at him. We believe there are more animals like this one in the cave."
