First, thanks to the readers who have been wondering what the heck happened to Slay since book one. He needed a time out to think about what he did! One of my favorite things is redeeming a villain, and while I don’t know if I’d call Slay a bad guy, per se, he was a bit of an ass. Hopefully, readers agree that he’s earned his happy ending at last.
Now let me get to the words of praise. Thanks to Karen Alderman and Fedora Chen for their beta-reading insights. Much appreciation to Bree Bridges, Lilith Saintcrow, Yasmine Galenorn, Alyssa Cole, Donna Herren, Thea Harrison, and Courtney Milan for all the emotional support and hijinks. I’m also thanking the denizens of a certain Discord. Knowing that you’re excited about what I’m working on gives me such a boost, and I really appreciate all of you.
So much appreciation to Kanaxa for the gorgeous cover art. Thanks to Victoria West for the timely edits, and heartful gratitude to Lillie for the phenomenal proofreading. I couldn’t do it without the whole team. I’ve been remiss in not mentioning Jill Smith before. Several readers have praised The Story So Far, because it refreshes the series without needing to reread all the books. (You can, of course!) Anyway, Jill is responsible for summarizing each tale so beautifully, and I owe her many thanks.
Finally, love and appreciation to my family. I appreciate their support more than I can say. Special mention goes to my son, Alek, who always brainstorms the best solutions to my knotty plot problems.
Please enjoy the final volume in the Ars Numina series. I’ve been writing about people resisting a tyrant against all odds since 2016. In late 2020-early 2021, I got to write about said tyrant’s abject downfall (and it was so satisfying). I didn’t realize how much my books were paralleling the real world until a reader pointed it out. I hope you enjoy the ignominious defeat of Tycho Vega as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Thanks for sticking with me through all these books and keep telling paranormal romance fans about the series. Without further ado, the epic finale awaits.
