Filmography

This is not a complete filmography, but it’s about as complete as I’ve been able to make it. I’ve included all of the titles that I can remember I made as a director and/or producer except the short film The Savages (1964) and the documentaries Navajo Winter (1965) and Maui Adventure (1977).

I’d like to acknowledge the enormous amount of help I received from Michael Copner and Coco Olson of Cult Movies Magazine in assembling a good deal of the details in this list of films. At one time, the eminent film historian and writer Kalton C. Lahue attempted to compile a complete list of all the early films that I had made. It proved to be a daunting task because in those days I was churning out so many films, sometimes shooting two different features at the same time in a single day, and it never occurred to me to keep track of all of them.

AUTO EROTICISM & THE FEMALE

In the privacy of their own homes, several lonely females come up with various imaginative ways to satisfy their uninhibited passions. This was a pretty shoddy effort that involved stringing together six split-beaver loops to come up to a feature-length running time and adding a soundtrack composed of pirated music and canned moans and groans. THE RISE & FALL OF RICKY SHUTER (1969)

In my first effort at trying to make a feature-film story, I came up with a half-baked idea about a photographer, Ricky Shuter, who makes his living shooting nudie cuties. But he runs into some hot water when a gangster named Mr. Big forces him to work off his gambling debt by shooting a stag movie. This was the first film in which I attempted using synch-sound utilizing a Uher crystal-synch recorder. (Softcore/Hardcore)

THE HISTORY OF PORNOGRAPHY (1970)

This somewhat bargain-basement documentary traces the development of erotica in Asia and Europe from the earliest times on through to the present. It includes scenes from rare hardcore pornographic films from France and Argentina and the classic 1950s stag film The Nun is presented almost in its entirety. (Hardcore)

SEXUS IN PARADISE (1970)

This pseudo-documentary purports to chronicle the Hawaiian swing scene, but in actually it is little more than just a bunch of Hawaiian travelogue footage interspersed, from time to time, with some pretty tame sex loops, only one of which was actually hardcore. This film was a somewhat blatent attempt to stretch the difinition of the documentary film in an attempt to get away with showing hardcore sex on screen. (Softcore/Hardcore)

THE GIRL FROM DENMARK

The story circles around the erotic adventures of tall, blonde Jan, newly arrived from Denmark, who sets out in Hollywood looking for a job and a place to stay. She finds a lot more than she bargained for when she encounters a horny employer and other interesting people. (Softcore)

LOVE: DENMARK STYLE

The pretty girl from Denmark returns! When it comes to love and free sex, the Danes are totally open, honest, and above-board, as is shown in this purported slice-of-life film in which suburban Los Angeles substitutes for Copenhagen. The affairs of the beautiful blonde Jan and others show us that sexual liberation can truly be fun. (Softcore)

SEX AND THE DANES

At this time, exploitation films in the guise of documentaries like Sexual Freedom in Denmark allowed the audience to see actual hardcore on the screen. We figured these softcore one-day wonders might sell if we utilized that selling point. (Softcore)

THE DANISH PASTRY

As the frenzy about Danish porn began to die down, so did our imaginations. We reverted, in this case, to pastry. (Softcore/Hardcore)

THE LOVE DOLL

A lonely clerk relies on an inflatable rubber doll to satisfy his sexual passions. But what happens when he falls in love with the doll and it miraculously comes to life as the girl of his dreams, the beautiful Shawn Cannon? (Softcore/Hardcore)

LITTLE SISTER

Poor little Debbie discovers that her frigidity was caused by the trauma of seeing her big sister, loudly making love to her husband when Debbie was only a child. Will this traumatic experience scar her forever or can she overcome it somehow by experiencing normal sex? (Softcore/Hardcore)

I, A VIRGIN

How’s a girl going to hold on to her virginity when everyone around her is having wild, uninhibited sex? It’s a sign of time times and Little Debbie eventually decides she at least has to try and keep up with them. (Hardcore)

NAKED NYMPHO

Some girls, like the sexy brunette Maria, just can’t seem to get enough. It takes both men and women to feed her insatiable lust. Will she ever be able to lead a normal life? I didn’t think very much of this film while we were making it, but it proved to be quite popular. (Hardcore)

SEX MARATHON

Filmed back-to-back with Naked Nympho, this cautionary tale reveals what happens when some swinging couples decide to get together for a sex party and the party gets out of hand. What transpires, naturally, is a wild and wooly sex marathon of epic proportions. (Hardcore)

DREAMBODY

We were really grabbing at straws when it came around to making this one. The story centered on a sexy lady with a dynamite body and her numerous sexual adventures and misadventures. Although it wasn’t a bad film, the theater owners began calling this film Greenbody because, due to a fixer error, the initial release prints came out in an unsightly shade of green. (Hardcore)

TEACHER’S PETS

Students and teachers and teachers and teachers and students and students sometimes do things that they definitely should not do. Sheila is a very horny high school teacher who simply can’t control herself, either with her students or her fellow teachers. It’s suffice to say that extracurricular activities were never like this. FIRES DOWN BELOW (1971)

A Vietnam War widow’s life is suddenly interrupted by a mysterious stranger who claims to have known her late husband during the war. When she invites him into her life, he proceeds to turn it completely upside down. (Hardcore)

JOHNNY WADD (aka JOHNNY GUNN)

In the first Johnny Wadd film, the private detective is hired to find a missing girl, then he’s hired not to find her. Of course he has to take most of his pay in the form of sex, which doesn’t daunt him in the least except when the missing girl’s mother shows up and wants to have sex with him. Wadd eventually regains his stride and saves the girl. (Hardcore)

FLESH OF THE LOTUS (1971)

Johnny Wadd’s second case has him searching for the killer of an old girlfriend who has mysteriously disappeared. Before long it becomes a search that leads him to a trail of drugs and perversion, with some unexpected twists and turns that eventually take him to the mysterious and deadly alleyways of Chinatown where he has his initial confrontation with the dangerous and mysterious Oriental villain known as Frankie. THE BLONDE IN BLACK LACE (1971)

With the third installment of the Johnny Wadd series, the private detective is hired to get the goods on the title blonde, Mrs. Susan Furnaux’s millionaire husband, who she truly suspects is cheating on her. Of course, he is, but not quite in the way she suspects. (Hardcore)

TROPIC OF PASSION (1971)

Blackmail and intrigue meet Johnny Wadd when he arrives in Hawaii, where he tries to insure that a prospective heiress will inherit her fortune by finding and destroying the only thing that stands in her way—a pornographic film loop that someone secretly made of her. (Hardcore)

THE LIBERATED WOMAN (1972)

Sandi is a bored, restless, and lonely housewife with a dull, ordinary husband, who one day gets it into her mind to set out and explore the new age of free love. Her neighbor happens to be the love guru John Parker, and he shows her the way, persuading her to try all the things that she’s been missing out on. After experimenting with various unconventional kinds of lovemaking, she discovers that nothing can beat the sexual relationship she has with her husband. (Softcore)

THE PASSION SEEKERS (1972)

For some, normal is just not enough. With this film you are invited to join the swinging set as they search for passion and forbidden thrills in wild and unbridled orgies as they set out to enjoy an endless variety of delightfully twisted fun and games. (Softcore)

THE LOVE GARDEN

A writer falls in love with a cute blonde who lives in his apartment building. When he discovers that she’s a virgin living with her beautiful lover, he decides to switch her to the right path. The experience is everything he expected it to be. The problem is, it wasn’t for her.

THE DANISH CONNECTION (1972)

A bunch of bizarre misfits populates this zany softcore film, in which Johnny Wadd makes an appearance, built around the outtake footage from Tropic of Passion. The story is about impotent millionaire Herbert Steele, who is after a sex potion that will solve his problem and allow him to screw his secretary Miss Kitty Polenti. He hires Cassidy to get it. This film is often erroneously credited as being the first Johnny Wadd film, perhaps because of the release dates due to it being softcore. It is not even a true Johnny Wadd film, although for promotional purposes Manny Conde tried to make it appear like one. (Softcore)

EVIL COME, EVIL GO (1972)

The cult sex film auteur Walt Davis, who also directed The Danish Connection, wrote and directed this softcore off-beat slasher film about a psychotic religious freak that picks men up in bars and lures them into having sex with her before she casually and methodically disembowels them. Arriving in Hollywood, she meets a young, gullible female disciple at a hamburger stand and together they go on a bloody rampage. Some of the scenes in this film were shot simultaneously with The Danish Connection. (Softcore)

THE ALL AMERICAN GIRL (1972)

Debbie is the All-American girl of the seventies. In this era of sexual freedom she not only loves to make friends—but husbands, and even wives, as well. Debbie went from lollipops to lust in one short, hot summer in this erotic coming of age story that is quite unlike any other. (Softcore)

BLUE MONEY (1972)

This film was actually based on some of the incidents that my partner Alain Patrick and I experienced during the early days of the adult film industry. Alain plays Jim, the fictional pornographer whose sole goal in life is to make enough money to have a decent life with his beautiful wife Lisa and their little baby. Eventually, finds himself in deep trouble with the law and not only his freedom but his very way of life is seriously threatened. (R-Rated General release)

BROTHER AND SISTER (1973)

A young man and his pretty stepsister find that they are very much in love with each other when they are reunited. Naturally this leads to both expected and unexpected problems. One of the first adult films to broach the exploitation angle of incest. (Softcore)

PANAMA RED (1973)

An unemployed musician makes a deal with a mysterious businessman to sell five hundred kilos of high-grade marijuana in three days. What follows is a a whirlwind marathon of grass dealing as the musician tries to unload the stuff while dodging local law enforcement, avoiding a determined BNDD agent, and staying one step ahead of a dogged repossesser trying to get his hands on the musician’s van. THE DEVIL’S GARDEN (1974)

A wife travels to a mysterious Caribbean island in search of her missing husband. On this island where even ordinary things can take on an appearance both strange and forboding, she becomes entangled with with a family of sinister island aristocrats, is confronted by a mysterious Oriental businessman, and stumbles onto a secret cult practicing authentic rituals of voodoo—rituals long forbidden that the local authorities tolerate only out of fear. THE MARRIED WOMAN (1974) (Alternate title MY WIFE THE HOOKER for 1977 Re-release)

A housewife whose husband is unable to fully satisfy her because he spends all his energy on the pretty redheaded neighbor decides to satisfy her lust and supplement the family income by becoming a high-class call girl. (Hardcore)

FOR LOVE OF MONEY (1974)

This convoluted film noir-type tale is set in Suburbia, USA. It is about passion, blackmail, betrayal and revenge. There is a memorable extended blowjob scene at the beginning choreographed to the music of Ravel’s Bolero. (Hardcore)

THE LOVE SLAVES (1974)

Hardcore American remake of the softcore Japanese porno-noir film The Love Robots. Attractive young girls are disappearing off the streets of San Francisco and ending up in the basement of Dr. Severin’s villa to be turned into love slaves and assassins. Steve Glick, a federal agent, undertakes to solve the case, little realizing that the diabolical Severen will employ any means to stop him. (Hardcore)

TELL THEM JOHNNY WADD IS HERE (1975)

Private detective Johnny Wadd travels south of the border to aid an old friend, BNDD narcotics investigator Sam Kelly, in uncovering a big heroin-smuggling operation. In a final showdown that takes place at the San Luis Cantina, Johnny goes up against Ringo and his boys. (Hardcore)

LIQUID LIPS (1975)

In this sequel to Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here, Johnny is enlisted by the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs to follow the trail of the heroin smugglers up the coast to San Francisco. (Hardcore)

HARD SOAP (1976)

A bizarre porno soap opera satire with surrealistic undertones. (Hardcore)

THE JADE PUSSYCAT (1976)

When Jenny, an old flame from the past, shows up in his office, Johnny Wadd finds himself involved in a quest for her missing brother Paul. Little by little, John pieces together the strange story of the Jade Pussycat, a priceless Han dynasty artifact sought by a sinister, fat, degenerate criminal named Mueller and his dangerous coconspirator Alexandra. The trail eventually leads John to Chinatown. But can he unravel the mystery of the Jade Pussycat? (Hardcore)

This lighthearted adult contemporary Western centers on two cowpokes, Nevada Lipps and Sunstroke McCain, who are trying to live a nineteenth-century life in the twentieth century. After a close escape from the angry father and three angry brothers of a girl Nevada seduced while Sunstroke cheated them in a game of poker, they rescue a runaway bride and deal with the two mafia hitmen trying to get their boss’s bride-to-be back. To top everything off, an angry motorcycle gang and the father and brothers are all after them. (Hardcore)

THE CHINA CAT (1978)

In the sequel to The Jade Pussycat, Johnny Wadd goes up against the clever quartet of beautiful girls known as Charlie’s Devils as well as a beautiful but deadly Oriental female assassin, and all of them are after the valuable artifact he has in his possession. (Hardcore)

PIZZA GIRLS (1978)

Some wild and crazy antics with cute and sexy pizza delivery girls who deliver a hell of a lot more than pizza. (Hardcore)

TELEFANTASY (1978)

After the success of Candy Stripers, Pacific Coast Films wanted me to make another light comedy for them. This one was about a television station trying to boost its falling ratings by opting to go with sex over violence in their special features reporting in an attempt to grab a much wider audience. DISCO LADY (1978)

A beautiful young girl out looking for fun runs into a sleazy pimp who gives her some “nose candy” before taking her to a wild New Year’s Eve party at a Sunset Boulevard disco nightclub. (Hardcore)

LITTLE ORPHAN DUSTY (1978)

A pretty young runaway from an orphanage is brutally pursued, captured, and raped by a motorcycle gang, then taken in by a compassionate artist. The artist introduces her to his wild, swinging, hedonistic lifestyle before falling in love with her and asking her to marry him. But before they can be married, the motorcycle gang finds her and begins terrorizing her once again. (Hardcore)

TAXI GIRLS (1978)

A clever hooker operates a taxi service that offers some real service. Not only is she able to get her fellow prostitutes off the streets and into the driver’s seat, but she’s raking in the money—until some dangerous competition starts to sit up and take notice, that is. (Hardcore)

TROPIC OF DESIRE (1979)

A wartime drama set in a Hawaiian bordello during the final days of World War II. (Hardcore)

FANTASYWORLD (1979)

Three pretty young Midwestern schoolteachers and three sailors out for a night on the town come across a strange, secret nightclub off the beaten path in a dark San Francisco alleyway where their wildest erotic fantasies suddenly become reality. (Hardcore)

HOT LEGS (1979)

This light comedy is set in the world of high fashion photography. When a small but creative ad agency lands the prized “Hot Legs” hosiery account, poor Mort has the job of coordinating a still shoot with the top fashion model Annie Spencer, whose wildly independent nature literally drives him up the wall. In the midst of all this are three of the tenderest love scenes one is likely to find in one film as well as a solid story and garters, lace, nylons, and underwear galore. (Hardcore)

CALIFORNIA GIGOLO (1979)

A lighthearted comedic romp satarizing the hedonistic California lifestyle. John C. Holmes plays a self-styled California gigolo who possesses an attribute that many women find irresistable. In a scene that didn’t make it to the final cut, a client asks, “Just how big is it?” to which John replies, “About fourteen inches.” As the California Gigolo, John delivers hot action from start to finish. (Hardcore)

BLONDE FIRE (1980)

“South Africa provides the lush and exotic background for the most lavishly produced Johnny Wadd film ever made, Blonde Fire. Private detective Johnny Wadd is hired to deliver a stolen and recovered four-million-dollar diamond to its rightful owners in Capetown. As soon as he arrives in South Africa he has a run-in with Vicki Crothers, the head of security for the largest diamond company in the world. And from that point on the detective finds himself involved in a baffling series of coincidences.”

Thus reads the introduction for the official synopsis from the pressbook of Blonde Fire. One would do well to heed the last sentence of the synopsis: “Johnny’s final suspicions are confirmed leading to an explosive climax before a final twist ending that proves that things are indeed, not always as they seem.” While Blonde Fire was certainly the most expensive and arguably the most ambitious of all the Wadd films, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it is the best. A marooned American sailor comes across a Nazi outpost and sadistic German women torturing captive nurses on a remote South Pacific island. (Hardcore)

BABY CAKES (1980)

A light comedy chronicling the adventures and misadventures of three beautiful California girls who decide to take a four-hundred-mile bicycle ride down the California coast. Suzy talks her best friends Rhonda and Denise into accompanying her in what turns out to be the ride of their lives, in more ways than one. (Hardcore)

THE SEDUCTRESS (1980)

This low-budget porno-noir drama is about corruption in high-rise places. It is a cautionary tale of blackmail and murder involving girls with big tits and a host of unsavory characters. In a town where coercion, entrapment, and blackmail serve as the currency of exchange, a ring of call girls is hired to sexually compromise some members of the building commission to secure their votes for the construction of a proposed hotel-casino. But the best laid plans of mice and men can easily turn to shit, especially when there are greedy, grasping women involved. (Hardcore)

LAS VEGAS LADY (1980)

A promiscuous Las Vegas girl ends up leaving a trail of torrid sexual conquests in her wake. When asked about this film by Michael Copner, I replied: “What I definitely do know about Las Vegas Lady is that it was probably the worst film that I ever made. Fortunately, to this day this title remains one of the most difficult of my films to find. To say that I am truly embarrassed about it would be an understatement.” (Hardcore)

EXHAUSTED

Colin Jacobson wrote that Exhausted was “a porn film with a famous connection. Significant portions of Boogie Nights were inspired by Exhausted. Actually, “inspired by” is a nice phrase, for anyone who watches Boogie Nights will see scenes that were almost perfectly lifted from Exhausted.”

What the film is actually composed of is a compilation of clips of John Holmes movies that I made for Freeway Films interspersed with a lot of interview footage that Julia shot.

THE YOUNG LIKE IT HOT (1982)

The supervisor of the Ocean Valley Telephone Company finds out that management is planning to replace the girls and one guy who are her operators with a computer. If the telephone operators can provide a service that the computer can’t, they can stay. One thing the computers can’t do is provide advice about things like sex to callers, so the operators begin providing the telephone customers with all kinds of advice and this leads to all kinds of wild and crazy situations. The major magazines gave The Young Like It Hot rave reviews, and it was chosen Second Best Film of the Year by Adam Film World.

SWEET YOUNG FOXES (1982)

In this second film of the back-to-back shoot with The Young Like It Hot, a group of young California co-eds spend their days and nights on the prowl, looking for ways to satisfy their red-hot passions. Laura, Maggie, and Kimberly are three luscious beauties whose lives are going through tumultuous changes. All three decide to descend on a wild party to remedy their loneliness.

BODY GIRLS (1983)

Jackie LaLay is the owner and operator of a workout gym. Her girls are going to be contestants in the Miss Body Beautiful Contest and they stand a good chance of winning. A rival gym, however, is trying to sabotage their chances by sending two incompetent clowns to rig the weights. The two thugs are caught in the act and thoroughly tortured sexually by the girls. After a few more misadventures, the girls of Hyapatia’s gym go on to win the contest.

LET’S GET PHYSICAL (1983)

In this drama, Hyapatia and her husband Paul, who was crippled in an auto accident, run a dance studio. Since he is no longer able to satisfy her sexually, she is driven to seek fulfillment from her students while her husband is the willing voyeur.

ALL THE WAY IN (1984)

Candy is a popular letter columns editor for a leading men’s magazine. Her column provides advice on matters of love and sex. Everybody reads it, but of late Candy has been very distracted—she has fallen in love with a mysterious admirer she has never even met. When news circulates that the magazine is being bought out, the staff is in fear of losing their jobs—all except Candy, who is too preoccupied thinking of her phantom lover. When the staff finds out the magazine owner is an admirer of Candy, they persuade her to talk to him into letting them keep their jobs.

BLONDIE (1985)

“Set in the Bahamas, the story centers around a gorgeous, horny housewife whose sexual adventures and misadventures on the island paradise provide lighthearted but heavily heated comedy entertainment. Blondie is just one woman who can’t be kept down by any man or woman.” So reads the synopsis for this little film, which is one of the more obscure titles in my filmography.

NICE ’N TIGHT (1985)

This film chronicles a long day and night at a seedy Las Vegas motel. The story opens when two unemployed construction workers from Michigan who are on their way to a better life in California decide to stop over in Las Vegas. Fate and their finances lead them to a rundown place just off the strip called the Paradise Motel, and the rest of the film meanders through the establishment, peeking in on what’s happening with the various guests. In one room, Paul, a small-time theatrical agent sees the possibility of making the motel maid into a star. In another is a young honeymoon couple with a horny bride who does her best to keep her husband away from the gambling tables. The motel also houses a hardened prostitute and her shy cowboy customer; two businessmen picking up a couple of pornstars for some late night entertainment; a middle-aged aunt discovering that her nephew is much bigger than she thought he was; and a couple of shy high-school seniors posing as a married couple.

COUNTRY GIRL

Country girl Billie Jean, or BJ as she is called, is fresh off an Iowa farm as she comes to the big city to visit her cousin Lorraine. It doesn’t take her long to start suspecting that Lorraine is in fact a very high-priced call girl. BJ witnesses the hot, torrid no-holds-barred threesome between her “cousin” Jack and beautiful blonde Cindy, the steamy encounter between the tantalizing Oriental temptress Virginia and her trick, and a wild session with Lorraine and the wealthy attorney Ron. In the midst of all this, a client named Howard gets impatient while waiting for Lorraine, sees BJ, and immediately falls in lust with her before seducing her.

AGE OF CONSENT

Around the turn of the twentieth century, six luscious young ladies, all of them virgins from a girls’ school, mysteriously disappeared during a class outing at the Willow Creek Campground. It is said that their ghosts have been wandering the area ever since, waiting to be deflowered. Intrigued by these stories, three brave young adventurers, Greg, Waldo, and Charlie, decide to spend the night to find out if the legend is true. Imagine Waldo’s surprise when he goes to the creek for some water and finds six voluptuous love-starved nymphettes. Is it all an illusion or is the legend really true? Our three brave campers will discover this over one unforgettable day and night as the six young beauties finally give up their maidenhood on the sacrificial altar.

LOSING CONTROL

A group of people get together in an upscale house for a party, but they are unable to get away from their personal problems. Their relationships are crumbling, their jobs are gone, and desperation is setting in. As if things could not possibly get worse, two criminals break in and hold them hostage.

THE HONEYMOONERS (1986)

Carol and Jim are two young newlyweds stranded on a lonely country road on their honeymoon night when their car breaks down. They manage to take refuge at the first place they come to, which happens to be a bizarre sexual awareness retreat run by sex guru Mahesh O’Reilley.

But shelter for the night is not all they find. They are virtually prisoners of a group of extraordinary people trying to achieve a higher level of sexual awareness. If Jim and Carol wanted an exciting honeymoon, they certainly ended up getting it. They had love, but what they found was intrigue, excitement, sensuality, eroticism, and lust.

GODDESS OF LOVE (1986)

The Greek goddess Athena returns to earth to share her philosophy of love with the modern world, but her meddling results in all kinds of problems. According to Adam Film World, this film was one of my most uninspired efforts.

THE DEBUTANTE (1986)

The Debutante is probably the most forgettable thing that I ever made because of the actress who starred in it. A Dallas newspaper reporter reluctantly takes up his assignment to interview some beautiful Texas debutantes for the society page. The first is Ali Moore, who almost runs over the paperboy with her red Ferrari. Moore tries to distract the paperboy from his injured knee by seeing to the relief of another part of his body.

DRESSED TO THRILL (1987)

An erotic romance writer, Rebecca Lynn, finds that what her works really need are more realistic erotic fantasy descriptions and situations. Because of her relative inexperience, however, in order to accomplish this she has to get some firsthand experience to make her erotic descriptions ring true. ADOBE ANGELS (1991)

Low rent and broken dreams are about the only common ground the eccentric characters of Adobe Angels walk upon in this film. Take Karen Crawford. Her life, from her point of view, has drifted into oblivion before her very eyes. After years of struggling as an actress in Hollywood and not even coming close to making it, she finds herself stranded in Albuquerque, New Mexico, working as a waitress in a cheap diner and weighed down by a life of anonymity and hopelessness.

Residing alongside Karen in the rundown motor court is Harry Lister—an aging Native American actor whose claim to fame is having worked with the legendary film director John Ford forty years ago—who awaits his return despite Ford having been dead for almost twenty years. Then there’s the tragic story of Mr. Ryan, a former teacher at the Military Academy, whose destruction under the heaviest of burdens and guilt we sadly witness. Adding spice to the story are a trilogy of interesting characters: Carlotta, the greedy landlady, Vanessa, a hooker with good intentions, and Mr. McIntyre, a young man who blames his shattered illusions on the US Army.

UNNATURAL ACTS (1997) Unreleased

In this contemporary film noir-type thriller, Kathleen is the beautiful, affluent bored wife of Philip, a successful author of child psychology books who is much older than her. Childless and getting older, she feels that she has accomplished nothing in her life. She tries to fill the void with meaningless shopping. One day, as she walks away from the ATM machine, she is traumatized by a crazed drug addict who tries to rob her and hijack her car. Fortunately, Gavin, a young musician, comes to her rescue. She and Gavin become friends, and then they become more than friends. His youth arouses in her the passions that she thought were gone. With him, she experiments with sexual things that she had never even thought of trying before.

She falls in love with Gavin and she believes that he is in love with her. Then Gavin springs it on her: he has recorded their sexual trysts on videotape and he wants money. She gives him money but he wants more, much more, and he’s also no longer interested in continuing the affair. When Kathleen hears this, she goes on a trail of revenge which leads her into the bizarre and violent world of punk music clubs, sinister bars, and the dark and foreboding alleyways of Hollywood’s underbelly after dark.

HARD BOUND (1999)

When womens’ magazine photographer Annalise Meridan’s car is stranded in the middle of the desert, redneck rancher Billy stops his pickup truck to help her. He finds her to be a disagreeable city lady whom he decides he doesn’t want to have anything to do with. When his pickup truck fails to start, however, they find themselves stranded together. Billy decides to trek up across the mountains to the nearest town to get help. Not wanting to be left alone on the deserted stretch of rural highway, Annalise follows. What ensues is a battle of the sexes as both try to survive through the day and night in the woods, battling both the elements and each other.

BAD PENNY (1999)

In this sun-drenched Southwestern porno-noir, newlywed couple Penny and Roger stop in a deserted ghost town and encounter a dangerous drifter, Shade. When Roger insults the drifter, Shade shoves him against a building beam, knocking him unconscious. The incident is witnessed by two joggers, Maddie and Jared, who were in a deserted blacksmith’s shop nearby making love. Penny is strangely attracted to the violent stranger and decides to run off with him while Roger is still unconscious. Shade and Penny end up in a cheap motel, where she dons a black wig and passionately makes love to him. Meanwhile, Roger is in the next town trying to get the sheriff to search for Penny. The sheriff questions Jared while kinky Deputy Sue questions Maddie, and both seem to give conflicting accounts of what transpired. To top everything off, both of their stories conflict with the story that Roger told the sheriff. While he tries to sort everything out, Penny appears and has story to tell of her own.

MAGNUM LOVE (2000)

Peter Magnum’s days are spent fighting for justice while his nights are spent in the arms of some of LA’s most beautiful women. It’s all good until the love of his life is brutally murdered by a vengeful psychopath. Although he succumbs to some tasty temptations along the way, Peter manages to keep focused on the investigation and eventually tracks down the dangerous killer.

GEN SEX (2000)

The AVN review reads: “Luscious Stephanie Swift is a television newsmagazine reporter who learns some valuable lessons while covering a special segment on women and orgasms in this well-made, very entertaining video. While Gen Sex offers plenty of juicy action to get viewers going, the video’s best asset is its frank look at female pleasure and the importance of open communication between partners to achieving that sometimes elusive ‘big O’… and finally reaches a climax with a mutual lap-session between the reporter and her horny camerawoman. Don’t expect to find anything more bold than a little finger-in-the-ass action here, but viewers looking for a solid, woman-centered story fleshed out with a variety of enticing sex won’t be disappointed.” (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

THE SPA (2000)

The story, such as it is, chronicles a day of erotic goings-on at a very ritzy Beverly Hills spa for horny women—and of course these goings-on involve a lot of hot and heavy sex.

The spa is a place where rich women can shed the frustrations and cares of their boring everyday lives and relax, play, and reenergize their pampered bodies by dallying discreetly with their handsome boy toys—and their beautiful girl toys if they are so inclined. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

THE JADE GODDESS (2001)

In the second Peter Magnum outing and the first feature release for New Era Entertainment, the lead role was recast with Lee Stone. The story owes a little something to The Jade Pussycat, since I recycled the idea of the private investigator becoming involved with a legendary priceless Chinese artifact once again. This was either due to poverty of imagination on my part or a desire to stick with something that had proved to be successful in the past. Upon its release, we received decent reviews and good video sales followed, so New Era was launched on a positive note. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

NAKED ANGELS (2001)

The third Peter Magnum film borrows something from China Cat with my use, once again, of the three-girl team called Charlie’s Devils, as the private investigator’s case with the Jade Goddess continues. Also added to the mix to provide some comedy relief were a pair of gangsters—a dangerous low-level mafioso named Moretti and a bumbling thief named Blake. They ended up working so well together that I decided to develop their characters more fully in the next two Peter Magnum features. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

DAUGHTERS OF THE DRAGON (2001)

In the final episode of the Jade Goddess trilogy, private investigator Peter Magnum and his gorgeous new secretary Alice go up against three deadly Asian hitwomen sent by the Hong Kong and Macao triads to retrieve the statuette and restore it to its rightful place.

On a lighter note, of course, Blake and Moretti, who have escaped from prison, are still along for the ride—this time working more as a team, albeit somewhat reluctantly, in their own attempts to steal the valuable artifact. FALLEN ANGELS (2001)

The Fallen Angels are the escaped killers Blake and Moretti who discover life and love in rural America as they travel the back roads in their quest for freedom. Hot on their trail, private investigator Peter Magnum runs into a sexual encounter he will remember for the rest of his life. Fallen Angels emerges as an erotic thriller that is also an unexpectedly complex and insightful meditation on mortality and morality. This was one of the few scripts that I was truly happy with after I finished writing it. Although it tends to be a little talky in places and the acting is not all that great, I sort of liked this one. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

BLONDE IN BLACK LEATHER (2001)

Private investigator Peter Magnum is caught in the middle of a war between two rival drug lords. His investigation leads him to to an experience with some wild and uninhibited Gang Girls as he searches for the mysterious, beautiful, and deadly Blonde in Black Leather. This was the first script that my nephew Rex Carlton wrote for me and he did a great job. I was beginning to feel that all the stuff I was writing was turning into the same old, same old, so this was a refreshing change. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

BLONDE FURY (2001)

In his review for AVN, film critic Tod Hunter wrote: “…As usual in Chinn features, sex scenes break out every few minutes, seven in all, just like in the ‘70s Golden Age when he learned his craft. As an added witty touch he has cast several of his seventies-era colleagues, all still active in the business, for on-camera cameos.” (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

JENNY RAIN, PORNO STAR (2001)

We were all getting somewhat bored with shooting Peter Magnum features, so we decided to add some variety to our release schedule by shooting a period porn story set during the Golden Age. My nephew Rex Carlton came up with some ideas and wrote the script and a little confection that we called Jenny Rain—Porno Star was the result. The story is about a magazine writer assigned to check out the new porn industry that’s been making waves across the country. In the process he and his super-straight girlfriend get all caught up in sexual freedom and the swinging lifestyle. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

YOUNG AND DANGEROUS (2001)

The eighth Peter Magnum feature sees his buddy, police detective George Lee, suspended for misconduct in the evidence room with a sweet and seemingly innocent blonde who has stolen an important little black book that tagged as important evidence in a crucial ongoing investigation.

As he tries to help his friend, Peter Magnum uncovers a sinister sex ring run by the dangerous Anjelica. The private investigator enlists the aid of a pretty assistant DA to help him set things right. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

DANGEROUS OBSESSION (2001)

The memory of a slain family member haunts Peter Magnum as he discovers the truth behind a tangled web of deception, treachery, and passion resulting from a Dangerous Obsession. Rex Carlton continued to try infusing new ideas into the Peter Magnum series with this one, but I couldn’t help but have the feeling, in the end, that it was going nowhere. Lee Stone’s wooden performances continued to bother me, and he wasn’t getting any better as the series progressed. Of course, in all fairness, nobody else was much better when it came to the acting department as well. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

PLATINUM BLONDE (2001)

Movie starlet Anna Lee Johnson is on trial for murdering her aged husband. Peter Magnum is pulled into the headlines when his friend is implicated in the suit. Magnum and his seductive associates weave their way through a world of opulence, fame, and the media that pursues them. After this ninth feature in the Peter Magnum series, I figured that it was time to move on to something different, so this was the last feature in the series. Lee would continue to play the role of Peter Magnum in supporting roles in the next two series. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

RE-ENTER JOHNNY WADD (2001)

When a mysterious lady hires San Pedro private investigator John Wolfe to solve a murder that happened many years ago, he uncovers a long-hidden secret that leads him to question his own past. He is relentless and persistent in his search for the shocking truth, which he learns after confronting his mother: his father was the legendary private detective Johnny Wadd. In the meantime, he must tackle a difficult case that will lead him to seek out one of his late father’s old enemies, which eventually results in finding the man who killed him. SATIN AND SABOTAGE (2001)

The second Johnny Wadd, Jr. feature was the first part of a trilogy that sees him going after a priceless medieval artifact and encountering a variety of villains in the process. Since valuable Oriental artifacts like the Jade Pussycat and Jade Goddess had worked for me before, I decided to see if I could do the same thing by using a legendary European treasure—in this case, the fabled Sword of Emperor Charlemagne. SILK AND SEDUCTION (2002)

In the second part of the Sword of Charlemagne trilogy, Johnny Wadd, Jr. comes up against a new set of deadly villains who are all after the same valuable artifact. Not much new here, although we did add an Asian agent to the mix in an attempt to come up with something just a little more exotic. Then again, I was getting the distinct feeling that I was just recycling the same old tired plots over and over again. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

PASSION AND BETRAYAL (2002)

After a torrid and passionate affair leading to a sudden, unexpected betrayal, Johnny Wadd, Jr. seeks retribution while passing through the steamy and seductive underbelly of Hollywood, where he finally finds the answers that lead him to the legendary, unconquerable Sword of Charlemagne. This feature marked the final chapter of the trilogy. I was somewhat uncertain as to whether I wanted to continue on with this series, but I soldiered on. (Hardcore and Softcore versions)

CITY OF DESIRE (2002)

In a city corrupted by strange passions and illicit desires, private investigator Johnny Wadd, Jr. finds himself framed for murder. In this fifth installment of the series, he becomes enmeshed in a bizarre and violent scheme involving blackmail and extortion from which there seems to be no escape. I was beginning to run out of enthusiasm as well as ideas for this new character I had created, and this feature, along with Jewel in the Lotus, which was shot back-to-back with it, would be the last of the short-lived series.
