THE AUTHOR
Pamela McLean, Ph.D., is a leadership coach and the CEO of the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, one of the leading coach training programs in the United States. She practiced as a licensed clinical psychology for many years before entering the coaching domain in the early 1990s. She is a Master Coach, a coach supervisor, and a contributor to the emerging field of coaching.
She has wide experience working with leaders in a variety of industries as they seek to deepen their leadership skills. She works regularly with organizations as they add coaching skills to their work as leaders, as well as managers who want to add coaching skills to their managerial tool kit. She regularly supervises experienced coaches working externally and inside organizations.
McLean is the author and coauthor with her colleague and partner Frederic Hudson, of several books, articles, and chapters focused on coaching, human development, and transformational learning. She is the coauthor of the well-known book on transition and change, LifeLaunch: A Passionate Guide to the Rest of Your Life. She coedited the winter 2009 edition of the International Journal for Coaching Inside Organizations focused on a developmental perspective in coaching.
McLean served on Harvard University’s JFK Women’s Leadership Board; serves on the advisory board of the Women’s Center for Leadership in Portland, Oregon; is an editorial board member of the International Journal of Coaching in Organization; and is on the faculty in the Organizational Systems Division of Saybrook University in San Francisco.
