Quantum Jump: When someone wants to make a massive change to their reality, it is said that this is possible using the concept of each person living in a parallel universe. While these alternative existences do not connect, it is hypothesized that by creating enough energy, the person can “jump” into the new reality, moving through time and space to create the desired state. At that point, using quantum theory, both versions of the person can exist simultaneously in the different universes but in the same state of being.
Quantum Mechanics: Including the quantum theory, this is an intricate part of new thinking in physics. Previously, physics constructs were based on the physical nature of life on earth, but in the early part of the twentieth century, scientists started to consider different possibilities. Albert Einstein was a central proponent of quantum theory; the main aspect of interest is that people on earth are aware of four dimensions in our world. However, quantum theory suggests there are many more dimensions of which we are currently unaware. This extends to the theory that individuals may be living different lives simultaneously in different dimensions. This concept is used to explain feelings of déjà vu. Ghosts or apparitions are seen when dimensions interact; also, psychic knowledge is thought to be tapped into with these other existences.
Quartz: A precious stone, rock, or mineral that comes in numerous hues and structures. Quartz can be energized by placing it in the palm of the hand. It is viewed as the master healer and can store, neutralize, and regulate energy. When quartz is placed on the body’s chakras, it can synchronize with the body’s internal energy. This crystal is often situated on a ritual altar to balance and harmonize the surrounding energies before a ceremony is performed.
Queen Scale: Linked to the tree of life and the Qabalah. An illustration used in magical practices composed of colorful paths and circles in blue, red, yellow, green, violet, and orange. It is thought that when using this diagram in rituals, one will attune to the cosmic and universal powers. (Bletzer, 1986.)
Querent: A term meaning “one who seeks.” A client or customer who visits seers, tarot readers, clairvoyants, psychics, or mediums to receive messages from the spirit world. In many tarot books, the word querent appears in the text to represent the person who is being given a reading.
Questioner: I Ching. A term used to describe someone who is suffering hardship and needs answers and counseling from a higher power.
