Photography started out as a curiosity and gave way to a voice and a passion that has enriched my life in so many ways.

“I THOUGHT THERE was no place for me in a world of rugged men clothed in dark earth tones. And then I realized . . . nature makes rainbows, too.”

I wrote these words reflecting on my journey into the climbing world. When I read them out loud to a friend, I was surprised when my voice cracked and I started to get teary. I realized just how much they say about who I am today. The climbing community builds itself. Through climbing you have this wonderful common interest and it weaves and interconnects you with complete strangers.

Photography started out as a curiosity and gave way to a voice and a passion that has enriched my life in so many ways. My favorite photos are those that capture joy or strength. One photo of a woman climbing changed my perception of what I could or couldn’t do, and I can only hope that my photography does the same.

I like to share what personally inspires me. Most of us are not pushing the limits of climbing, we are pushing the limits of ourselves. It is about capturing that struggle and accomplishment in all of us and not just the elite few.
