Reminders and Reflections

If you engage in healthy self-compassion, you’ll be much better at extending compassion inside and outside of your family.

Not only is empathy an innate quality, but acts of compassion are also actually beneficial for our bodies and minds.

What are some ways you can practice and model self-care and self-compassion in your life?

What are ways you can help your children both tune into commonalities and appreciate differences with others?

Find opportunities to try out the Self-Compassion, Beginning Anew, and Kind Wishes practices.

Review the privileges you have that others don’t, and find the right moment to discuss difficult issues such as privilege with your children.

Give kids practical opportunities to exercise their innate kindness, like caring for plants or pets.

Encourage your family to make eye contact and smile at people like clerks and waiters, wishing them a good day and meaning it.
