WINTER DAY 64

Time for Self-Love

How often do you let your face go naked? Our skin benefits from periodic stretches of time to breathe and renew—hence the importance of taking off your makeup at night. This winter, try to set aside some time at regular intervals to let your skin breathe, makeup free. Cleanse your face, apply your moisturizer (to combat the drying effects of indoor heated air), then cozy up with a favorite at-home activity as your skin basks in its natural state. You’ll benefit physically from the makeup free moments (your skin absorbs 60 percent of the ingredients you apply to it, so it could use a break now and then) and also emotionally, since seeing—and loving—your face without makeup can help you adore the skin you’re in. And when you choose to make up your face again, the effect will be all the more dramatic and special.
