This beaded cocktail ring is a true statement piece—glass beads are worked onto each stitch as you crochet, for a dazzling result that can hold its own against any gemstone! This is great candidate for playing with color and making multiple versions to suit your mood.
Beaded ball about 3½" (9 cm) diameter, stuffed.
Fingering thread (#0 Lace).

Size 7 (1.5 mm) steel hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Toho round seed beads—C #21, silver lined crystal, 180 beads; embroidery or beading needle with eye large enough for thread; polyfill, small amount; ring base, ½" (12 mm) round setting; glue for bonding beaded ball to ring base.
8½ sts = 1" (2.5 cm) in beaded sc stitch using size 7 (1.5 mm) steel hook.
Take time to check gauge.
Sc2tog (Single crochet 2 stitches together)
Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Instructions
String all beads onto the thread before beginning to crochet as follows: Put crochet thread through embroidery needle and string beads onto the thread, pushing them down toward the ball of thread and pull the extra working thread through the beads to prepare to crochet.
Note: Beads are used in Rnds 1–10.
Make an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1 (WS): Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, pull end to close ring—6 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around—12 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Note: Work in front loop only for Rnds 3–12.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, [2 sc in sc, sc in next sc] 6 times—18 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, [2 sc in sc, sc in next 2 sc] 6 times—24 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around—24 sc with beads. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, [2 sc in sc, sc in next 3 sc] 6 times—30 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc around—30 sc with beads. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, [sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc] 6 times—24 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in each sc around—24 sc with beads. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, [sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc] 6 times—18 sc with beads made. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Note: Work last two rnds with no beads.
Rnd 11: Ch 1, [sc2tog, sc in next sc] 6 times—12 sc. Join with sl st to beg ch-1, do not turn.
Rnd 12: Ch 1, [sc2tog] 6 times—6 sc. Fasten off, leaving long tail.
Finishing
Stuff ball with polyfill. Use tail end to gather sts to close and weave in end.
Attach to ring base with glue.
