Instructions

Body

Ch 28.

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook (ch 3 counts as dc), skip 2 ch, *[dc, ch, dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch; rep from * ending with 2 dc in last ch—18 dc and 7 ch-1 sps. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in front loop of same st as ch 3, skip 2 dc, *3 dc in front loop of ch-sp, skip 2 dc; rep from * ending with 2 dc in front loop of last dc. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in front loop of same st as ch 3, skip 2 dc, *[dc, ch, dc] in front loop of next dc (this will be the middle of the 3-dc group from the prev row), skip 2 dc; rep from * ending with 2 dc in last st. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 24" (61 cm) from beg. Fasten off; set aside.

Ribbed Bands (make 2)

Ch 8.

Row 1 (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and to end—7 sc. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in front loop of 1st sc and in front loop of each sc to end. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in unworked back loop of first sc of row below, and each unworked back loop to end. Turn.

Rows 4 and 5: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn.

Rep Rows 2–5 until band measures 24" (61 cm) from beg. Fasten off.

Finishing

Sew bands to top and bottom of long sides of body piece. Sew seam of short side together to form tube. Weave in ends.
