Banchan: Shared Small Dishes for Every Meal

BANCHAN REFERS TO THE series of small side dishes that are served with virtually every meal around a Korean table.  These dishes are all meant to be shared, with a few bites of many different varieties for everyone.  The more formal the meal, the more banchan will be served, typically.  The following are some quick and easy recipes for Korean banchan that you can serve at home.  Most banchan can be served at room temperature.

All of the following recipes serve about 4 people with a main dish or stew and white rice unless otherwise noted.
