Ingredients
- 1 pound of bean sprouts
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 minced scallions
- 2 minced cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp.sesame seeds
- Salt to taste
- 1-2 tsps gochugaru (optional, for a spicier version)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for a spicier version)
Preparation:
- Make sure sprouts are washed, then place in a saucepan with a tightly fitting lid and add 1 tsp salt and 1 cup water. Cover and cook over high heat, undisturbed, for 6-7 minutes.
- Drain well and quickly plunge into a bowl of ice water (this process, known as shocking, stops the cooking process and maintains texture and color). Drain, then toss with the remaining ingredients and serve.
