Ingredients
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 2 ½ cups sugar
- ¼ cup of corn syrup
- 2 tbsp of rice wine vinegar
- Food coloring, if you like
Preparation
- Cook cornstarch over medium heat in a large pan for 10 minutes. Spread out on a baking sheet and reserve.
- Bring corn syrup and sugar, vinegar, and ¾ cup water to a boil in a pot. Boil until mixture attains 250 degrees on a thermometer (a candy thermometer is best).
- Pour into doughnut-shaped molds, preferably silicone, and chill in the refrigerator for an hour.
- xxPop candy out of molds, and roll in reserved cornstarch. Then, pull into string-like candy: with your hands, spread into a wide ring, twist to make a new ring, then pull again. Continue pulling and twisting to make longer and thinner threads of candy. Repeat.
