Baram Tteok (Round stuffed tteok)

Preparation

  1. Mix rice flour, sugar, and salt with 1 cup water in microwave safe bowl (you can add food coloring here if you like).  Microwave for 3 minutes on high power.  Remove and stir for another 3 minutes, creating an elastic dough.
  2. Divide red bean paste into 16 ping pong sized balls and set aside.
  3. Divide dough into two equal portions and shape into long cylinders, then divide into 8 equal pieces each.  Wrap dough around red bean balls and seal.  Roll each in cornstarch.
