The Freezeout Creek Trail once departed from Lightning Creek at Nightmare Camp, but it has been abandoned and has now been completely swallowed by the forest.

The Ruby Creek Trail is a connector that parallels the highway between the East Bank and Canyon Creek trailheads.

The Happy Creek Forest Walk is a 0.3-mile interpretive trail just east of the Ross Dam overlook. It is wheelchair-accessible.

The Newhalem Creek Trail follows an old logging road. It has been abandoned and is overgrown with alder.

The Ladder Falls Trail is a short walk from the town of Newhalem or the East Bank and Canyon Creek trailheads.

Other short strolls around Newhalem are the River Loop, the Trail of the Cedars, and the Rockshelter Trail.

The Thunder Knob Trail departs from the Colonial Creek Campground at the south end of Diablo Lake and makes a gentle climb of 1.8 miles to the top of a forested knob above the reservoir, offering limited views of the surrounding mountains.
