Honorable Mentions
The Mill Creek Trail is burned over and choked with fallen logs at its lower end and overgrown with alders near the Azurite Mine. Don’t bother.
The trail from the Azurite Mine over Azurite Pass receives no maintenance and has been reclaimed by the wilderness.
The Boulder Creek Trail follows an old narrow-gauge route to the North American Mine site, then continues up the valley and over a pass to meet the East Creek Trail. Last cleared in 1980, it is hard to follow in the brushy avalanche tracks at the head of Boulder Creek.
The Trout Creek Trail is a hunter-access trail that descends from Harts Pass Road into the Trout Creek valley and visits several meadows.
The Driveway Butte Trail runs from WA 20 to an old fire lookout site above the West Fork of the Methow River. This trail burned over recently, causing the trail to close (check at a ranger station for current conditions). It opens fairly early in the summer, and is known for having lots of rattlesnakes.
