١،٨ ليس الخبر كالمعاينة
٢،٨ ليس لفاسق غيبة
٣،٨ ليس لعِرْقِ ظالم حقّ
٤،٨ ليس مِن خُلُق المؤمن الملق
٥،٨ ليس بعد الموت مستعتَب
8.1 Hearing is not like seeing.
8.2 Denigrating a debauchee is not slander.
8.3 Farming usurped land earns no rights.
8.4 A believer does not flatter.
8.5 There is no atonement after death.
٦،٨ ليس منّا مَن وسّع الله عليه ثمّ قتّر على عياله
٧،٨ ليس منّا من تشبّه بغيرنا
٨،٨ ليس منّا من لم يتغنّ بالقرآن
٩،٨ ليس منّا من لم يوقّر الكبير ويرحم الصغير ويأمر بالمعروف وينه عن المنكر
8.6 If God has given you plenty and you still penny-pinch with your family, you are not one of us.
8.7 If you follow the practices of other faiths, you are not one of us.
8.8 If you do not intone the Qurʾan, you are not one of us.
8.9 If you do not respect the elderly, show kindness to the young, command good, and forbid evil, you are not one of us.
١٠،٨ ليس بكذّاب من أصلح بين ٱثنين فقال خيرًا أو نمى خيرًا
١١،٨ ليس الغنى عن كثرة العرَض إنّما الغنى غنى النفس
١٢،٨ ليس الشديد بالصُّرَعة إنّما الشديد الذي يملك نفسه عند الغضب
8.10 If you reconcile two people, you cannot be reckoned a liar—your words and exaggerations are for the good.
8.11 Worldly goods do not constitute wealth—true wealth is the wealth of the soul.
8.12 Throwing people to the ground does not make you strong—true strength belongs to those who can control their anger.
١٣،٨ ليس شيء أكرم على الله من الدعاء
١٤،٨ ليس شيء أسرع عقوبة من بغي
١٥،٨ ليس شيء خيرًا من ألف مثله إلّا المؤمن
8.13 Nothing is dearer to God than supplication.
8.14 Nothing is punished faster than injustice.
8.15 A single believer is better than a thousand of anything.
١٦،٨ ليس لك من مالك إلّا ما أكلت فأفنيت أو لبست فأبليت أو تصدّقت فأمضيت
8.16 The only possessions that are truly yours are the food you have consumed, the clothes you have worn out, and the alms you have given away.
