Savio

A few hours before.

I sat in my office, looking over pictures of McKayla going to work and spending time with her parents and friends. My men were assigned to keep track of her whereabouts. Even if she hated me and claimed to want a divorce, I wouldn’t let it happen. In the beginning, it was a benefit to get her to marry me, but we’d grown closer, and I could admit the love I had for her caused me to think irrational. I’d started drinking more and stopped taking calls from anyone; the only person I wanted to hear from was McKayla. Marilyn hadn’t been by to cook or clean, but I still paid her since she’d been with me for so long. McKayla still looked the same, even more beautiful than before. My mom was mad at me and told me to not even come around until I made things right.

“I told you, he’s here looking like a wimp.”

“You owe me fifty dollars.” Sante held his hand out to Renato.

All my brothers standing at the door of my office in my penthouse was the usual routine whenever one of us went underground and didn’t want to be disturbed.

“How long have you been stuck in here?” Sante came to sit in the chair.

“Not today, Sante, and no smartass remarks, Renato.

“I should feel hurt, but you look like you need a friend.”

“She still hasn’t called?” EJ queried.

“No.”

“Maybe that’s a sign for you to move on from her,” Vincenzo said.

I growled and tried to leap over my desk. Sante pushed me back down.

“Enough! You’re ready to fight your brother over your lying,” Sante shouted.

I waved him off.

“This is all your fault, Savio. You made the choices.”

“I don’t need a lecture, Sante.”

“No, you need some pussy,” Renato mumbled.

All of us burst into laughter.

“Fuck all of you.”

“Time you got out of this funk.”

“I’m busy.”

“Doing what?”

“Working.”

“Now that Greco is no longer a threat, you should focus on adding more real estate.”

“Handle that for me,” I replied to Vincenzo.

“Well, there’s something else you should probably handle,” Renato said.

“Renato,” Sante grumbled.

They both had a look in their eye of something going on that I wasn’t privy to.

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“Sante, he needs to know.”

“What is it?”

“No, because all you’re going to do is get him riled up,” Sante explained.

“Now you have me curious.”

“Your woman is on a date,” Renato blurted out.

I cracked the pencil in my hand and jumped out of my seat.

“Who the fuck dares to go on a date with my woman?”

Sante and Renato jumped in front of me.

“Savio, calm down.”

“Get out of the way, Sante.” I narrowed my eyes and pushed him in the shoulder.

“Don’t get your ass beat,” Sante responded and shoved me back.

“Renato, where is she?” I ignored Sante’s glare.

“At some bar with Rena.”

Sante’s head swiveled toward him.

“All this is going to do is upset her even more.”

“My wife is on a date, and you think I’m worried about her being upset?”

“All I’m saying is you need to proceed with a little common sense.”

“If Rena was on date, would you proceed with common sense?”

“That’s different. She’s not my wife, and I don’t like her.”

“Renato, take me to this bar.” I reached my desk, grabbed my pistol, and slid it in a holster, walking out of the office with them arguing for me to calm down.

“If you go in there now, she’s going to hate you.”

“I don’t care.”

“Savio,” Sante called my name, and I stopped at the door.

“I’m riding with you, but if you want her to come home, think about what you’re going to say.”

“Or he could kidnap her again,” Renato suggested.

“This is why he’s my Underboss.”

Present time in the car.

I watched from outside the bar when Renato and Elio escorted McKayla outside. Rena was right behind, trying to fight Renato. I shook my head at the crowd taking photos and videos of them. I didn’t want a scene, but the second I heard my wife was on a date, I was ready to blow the entire place up. Sante jogged over and grabbed Rena in his arms, and Renato pointed to the limo. McKayla rolled her eyes. I smirked at her feistiness and hated it at the same time. Enzo opened the door, and McKayla slid in and crossed her legs, showing off her thick thighs in a short skirt. I wanted to go in and find the guy she was on a date with and smash his head in.

“Do you want me to go kill everyone in there?”

She ignored my comment.

“Baby, I suggest you answer me or suffer the consequences.”

She still ignored me and stared ahead.

“Okay.” I extended my head to the open door and stepped out. I reached behind my back and pulled my gun out.

“Are you nuts!” McKayla tried to jump out of the car, and I pushed her back inside, passing Enzo my gun, and shut the door.

“Yes!”

1 McKayla tried to fight me, and I pinned her down by her wrists between her legs.

“Get off me.”

“One thing I don’t do is joke about you.”

“You can’t go around killing innocent people.”

“I do whatever I want.”

“Get off me.”

“Who is he?”

“Who?”

“Don’t play dumb, sweetheart.”

“It wasn’t a date; I was hanging out with coworkers.”

“My brothers said you were on a date.”

“Are you spying on me?” She tilted her head to the side.

“Yes.”

McKayla’s eyes widened in shock.

“You’re crazy.”

“We’ve established that already. I need you to tell me what guy I need to kill.”

“Savio, I wasn’t on a date. Rena thought it would be nice to get me out of the house.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Not sure if you’ve noticed, but my husband is insane.”

I smiled at her reference to husband.

“So, I’m still your husband.” I pressed a kiss to her palm.

“I can’t answer that question.”

“So, you want to leave me.” I trailed kisses up her chest, to her neck and chin.

“This won’t work… Mhmmmm.”

Knock! Knock!

“Savio, open this door,” Rena yelled.

“Rena, get back here. Savio won’t hurt her,” Sante replied, and I heard scuffling.

“Go away!” I snapped.

“Savio.”

McKayla tried to get up, and I grabbed her around the waist and helped her to sit in my lap. I rubbed a hand up and down her back.

“I don’t like these clothes.”

“Not your choice.”

“I’ll burn it when we get home.”

“Who says I’m going home with you?”

“McKayla, we’ve been apart for too long. Time to forgive.”

“You’re so selfish.”

“I want my wife back.”

“You should have thought of that before you lied and betrayed me.”

“I’m sorry.”

I held her chin, keeping eye contact, and showed I was wrong.

“Did you kill Joseph?”

“You don’t want the answer to that question.”

“This is crazy.”

“I never apologize, McKayla, but you need to know what I will do when something comes between us.”

“Death isn’t the answer.”

“In my world, it is.”

“What about Viviana?”

“She wasn’t touched.”

“No more killing, Savio.”

“When you took those vows, you knew my life.”

“Savio, I wasn’t exactly married in a traditional way.”

“We can get married again.”

“With our family?”

“Yes, anything that makes you happen.”

I gripped the back of her neck, tightening a hand in her hair.

“Never walk away from me again, McKayla Calabresi. Do you understand?” I bit her bottom lip, then licked across her lips with my tongue to ease the sting.

“Yes.”

“I need to hear you.”

“I understand.”

“Good. Let’s go home. Our bed misses you.”

“Can I talk to McKayla please?” Rena knocked again, and I dropped my hand from around her hair and waist.

“She won’t leave until I tell her we’re good.”

“Fine.”

McKayla lifted her leg to move, and I stopped her.

“You stay right here.”

“Savio.”

“Baby, my dick is hard, and I won’t make it home. I need to be with you now.”

`She kissed me on the lips and pressed the button for the window to come down.

“Rena, I’m fine.”

Rena glared at me.

“Are you sure? If he’s holding you hostage…”

“I promise I’m okay.”

“Well, I’ll let you go then and call you tomorrow.”

“She won’t be available.”

“Savio.” McKayla smacked me on the arm.

“We’re going out of town, McKayla.”

“Did you talk to Nick?” Rena asked, and I smacked her on the ass.

“Who the fuck is Nick?”

“Savio!”

Rena burst into laughter, and I picked my gun up, causing McKayla to chuckle.

“I love you, Savio Calabresi.”

“I love you too, McKayla, but I hate your friend.”

“Let’s go home and make up.”

“Good. I’ve missed your sexy ass.”

“Have you spoken with your parents?”

“My mom banned me from the house until you come back.”

“I love your mom.”

“What about your parents?”

“They’ll come around.”

“Maybe I can buy them a new house.”

“You can’t throw money at everything, Savio, and expect it to go away.”

The limo started, and Sante leaned down in the window next to speak.

“Call me tomorrow.”

“Arrange the plane for us to go to Fiji,” I said.

“Why?”

“We’re getting married.”

“Aren’t you already married?” Sante’s voice heightened to a level I wasn’t expecting.

We stared into each other’s eyes, and she held out her hand to mine.

“For real this time,” McKayla replied, pecking my lips.

“Savio, handle your shit from now on,” Sante grunted, leaving to get in the car with Rena.

“Do you think they’re dating?” McKayla probed.

“I don’t care to know.”

Using my fingertips, I touched her thigh and then moved up to her breasts, lightly biting her nipple through her shirt.

“Savio… I want to wait.” She threw her head back and moaned.

“No.” I shook my head.

“Please, we can go one night until our wedding night.”

“McKayla.”

“Do this for me. One more night, and I promise to make you feel good.” McKayla ran a hand across my dick.

“You’re torturing me for payback.”

Before I could calm myself down, I smashed my lips on hers and dry humped her for a few minutes.

“I did learn a few things from you,” McKayla pulled away, whispered in my ear.
