A NOOK Kids book can have any number of features, such as interactivity or the ability to record your voice reading the book to your child. Not all kids’ books have all the available features. When you open a book, you can see its capabilities, which may include the following:
Read by Myself. The child can read the book to herself onscreen. Every children’s book falls into this category.
Read to Me. The book includes narration so the child can hear the book read aloud.
Read and Play. The book includes narration as well as interactive features, such as playing games or drawing on the screen.
Read and Record. You can record your voice reading the book aloud, so your kid can listen to it whenever he wants.
Before buying a kids’ book, carefully read its description to make sure you’re getting the features are most important to you and your children.
When you browse the Kids section of the NOOK Store, look for the Read and Play and Read to Me sections. The Read and Play section has books that are interactive, and the Read to Me section has books that will read themselves to your kids. Many Read and Play books frequently have the Read to Me feature as well.
No matter which section you choose, it’s also a good idea to read the book description, because that may have more details, including what types of interactive features are included.
