Acknowledgments

To My Literary Agent

This book is dedicated to Jim Levine, my literary agent and hero. He has always believed in me and has had a profound influence on my entire career since we’ve worked together. Jim is an unsung hero in the publishing world, having been a driving force behind some of the biggest authors and ideas of our time, yet being humble and staying behind the scenes. He is an inspiration to me because he could easily retire on the golf course, yet he chooses to continue to help the next generation of authors succeed. Only someone who truly loves what he does, like Jim, could continue to both lead an admired company and manage an endless roster of authors. Although he calls me “scrappy,” dedicating this book to him will motivate me to make it my best one yet and to succeed far beyond what even he had imagined.
