RON IRWIN is a retired Victoria Police detective sergeant who for thirty years worked as a lead investigator in major crime squads and divisions of the Victoria Police Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). He was also a respected police prosecutor and performed interchange detective duty with other Australian police forces. He worked with two Royal Commission investigation teams.
Ron’s life interests extend outside of policing; for eighteen years he was a local government councillor, holding office in a wide range of state, urban and regional local government, planning, tourism and sporting organisations.
When Ron retired from the police service, he and his wife became restaurateurs for sixteen years.
Blackened Tanner is his first book.
