Operations Following The Capture of Falaise
1. INTENTION – 2 Cdn Corps will
(a) With two infantry divisions form a firm base enclosing FALAISE until relieved by Second Army.
(b) With two armoured divisions will exploit to capture TRUN and the high ground dominating it in the SW and NE.
(c) Will prepare to advance in NE direction on LISIEUX.
2. 2 Cdn Inf Div
2 Cdn Inf Div will establish:
(a) One brigade in the area incl spur 1236 – incl 200 ring contourin 1936 – incl ring contour in 1434 – 1535.
(b) One brigade in the area all incl western end of woods in 0838 – ring contour pt 230 in 0937 – incl HAMEL
(c) One brigade in the area USSY 0841 – VILLERS-CANIVET 1041 – pt 206 in 0943.
(d) Be prepared to step up in succession one brigade to area pt 250 in 1730 and a second brigade to area RONAI 1826 – PIERREFITTE 1926 as 12 Corps advances on right and 4 Cdn Armd Div reaches area MOUTABARD 2226.
(e) Be prepared to advance on axis VERSAINVILLE 1638 –JORT – 2344 MARGUERITE DES LEGES 4274 when ordered.
3. 3 Cdn Inf Div
3 Cdn Inf Div will establish:-
(a) One brigade in the area all incl ring contour 160 in 1538 – ERAINES in 1637 – pt 152 in 1739.
(b) One brigade in the area all incl spur in 2039 – pt 90 in 2148 – LES MONTES D’ERAMES in 1940.
(c) One brigade in the area all incl pt 175 in 1441 – EPANEY in 1641 – OLENDON in 1644.
(d) Beprepared to advance on the axis SASSY 1945 – ST PIERRE SUR DIVES 2649 – LISIEUX 5387 when ordered.
4. 2 Cdn Armd Bde
2 Cdn Armd Bde will be in Corps reserve in the area GLATIGNY 1240 – AUBIGNY 1338 – ST LOUF in 1340.
5. 4 Cdn Armd Div
(a) 4 Cdn Armd Div will advance on the axis ERAINES 1737 – ring contour 250 in 1730 – pt 252 in 2226 and will position itself to dominate the high ground about MOUTABARD 2226 – and recce towards TRUN in 3129, establishing touch with the Polish Armd Division at TRUN.
(b) Subsequently, will be prepared to advance NE from MOUTABARD when ordered.
6 Polish Armd Div
(a) The Polish Armd Division will advance on the axis MAIZIERES 1749 – JORT 2344 – pt 259 in 3334, and will position itself to dominate the area pt 226 in 3235 – pt 258 in (Eastern Grid) 4159 – TRUN (Western Grid) 3129.
(b) Subsequently, will be prepared to advance NE when ordered.
