OLD-WORLD STUFFED PORK CHOPS

Years ago, a relative ran a restaurant in downtown Milwaukee, where several well-known German restaurants still operate. This is one of the recipes she developed. The savory stuffing and juicy pork chops are always a hit.

Prep: 15 min. Bake: 1 hour Makes: 4 servings

In a skillet, brown pork chops in oil on both sides; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Alternate the pork chops and stuffing lengthwise in a greased 3-qt. or 11x7-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour.
