THE NEW COMBINATIONS
Rescue Remedy
The essence for an emergency, Rescue Remedy is the most well-known and most often used combination of essences. It was first mixed and used by Dr. Bach himself. Since then, it has been employed in countless critical situations, and it has often worked wonders. Rescue Remedy consists of the following essences:
6: Cherry Plum
9: Clematis
18: Impatiens
26: Rock Rose
29: Star of Bethlehem
This mixture belongs in every household, travel first-aid kit, and car. It should always be taken in any kind of emergency—for example, in all types of accidents, collapse, anger or panic, threat of suicide, heart attack, stroke, burns, and injuries. It calms, stabilizes, and heals. The normal dosage is three drops on the tongue at short intervals (approximately ten minutes); repeat until there is improvement, and then take after longer intervals. If oral ingestion is not possible, just put some drops on the lips or rub in to the forehead.
1/2 Agrimony/Aspen
Suppression due to fears or fears due to suppression
Agrimony/Aspen is for people who try to ignore and suppress their problems until they become unclear, overwhelming, and unpredictable. Possible complementary essences: Mimulus, Red Chestnut, Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Walnut.
1/3 Agrimony/Beech
Artificial, false tolerance
Agrimony/Beech is for people who hide their fear of conflict and their dislikes and aversions behind a mask of tolerance and tend to gloss over even those things that rub them the wrong way. The discipline leaves them with a feeling of security. In reality, however, they exchange one form of insecurity for another. Naturally, it won’t make a fast-thinking and -acting person into a thoughtful and slow person, but it can, in most cases, significantly minimize the frequency and intensity of outbursts and prevent the worst manifestations of acute cases. Possible complementary essences: Oak, Scleranthus, Vervain, Wild Oat.

This combination can balance our temperament and make us more willing to have contact with others. It is good for acute conditions and for making us more easygoing. It often helps prevent the outbreak of an encroaching illness if, for no apparent reason, we suddenly become irritable and do not wish to have any contact with other people. Possible complementary essences: Elm, Star of Bethlehem, Walnut.
