Once you’ve moved into your shipping container home, it will become important that you consider your furniture selection carefully. Odds are good that you won’t have room for a king-sized bed or a full living room sectional or a ten-person dining room table. You probably won’t have space for a separate office or playroom. You’ll have to choose furniture that is designed with small spaces in mind, that serves multiple functions, and that provides plenty of storage. I’ve seen clients with desks that fold up against the walls, beds that fold into the wall, couches that double as storage bins, trundle benches, bookcases that serve as room dividers. Perhaps one of the simplest things to do is to get some folding chairs and have a place to hang them when not in use.
