Speaking of dropping anvils on watermelons . . . That event with Bill Nye the Science Guy, held at the University of Ottawa, was titled “Investing in Canadian Innovation.” Which raises the question: Why did the government fly in an American TV host to speak with Justin Trudeau? Don’t we have science personalities of our own? David Suzuki, for example. Why didn’t they call on Canada’s own David Suzuki instead?
David Suzuki’s assessment of Justin Trudeau.
Oh right. There’s that.
You see, when Justin phoned Suzuki during the 2015 campaign looking for a media-friendly endorsement, Suzuki said no. “You’re for the development of the tar sands, you’re for the Keystone pipeline, but you’re against the Northern Gateway, you’re all over the damn map!” Things got heated, Justin snapped at him, and the call ended with Suzuki calling Justin a twerp and (presumably) hanging up.
But have you seen those exploding watermelons on YouTube? They are sooo cool!
