Justin’s “peoplekind” comment quickly went viral and was roundly mocked both at home and abroad. In response, Justin’s old college buddy—and, until recently, key inner circle adviser in the PMO—Gerald Butts (he of the $126,000 moving expenses) flew into a spittle-flecked Twitter rage, denouncing anyone who would dare “torque” the prime minister’s words as being in league with “alt-right nazis.”
That’s right, children! If your prime minister says something dumb, and you laugh at him, you’re a nazi. One mustn’t mock Our Glorious Leader.
You think I’m kidding about the Liberal government policing language, but consider this: In 2018, Service Canada instructed its employees to stop using gender-specific terms when dealing with the public. These included such incendiary and offensive words as—and no, I’m not making any of this up—mother, father, Mr., and Ms.
That’s right, Ms. is now unacceptable. O brave new world . . . !
