WHAT A LOUSY $150,000 WILL GET YOU IN THIS TOWN

The Conservative Party of Canada spent $600 on the cover of their final federal budget. Which still seems like a lot considering any kid with a printer and access to Photoshop could have whipped up something for free in five minutes. Six hundred bucks for a report cover, you say? Liberals: Hold my beer.

Are you ready for this? Are you sitting down? The Liberal Party of Canada spent more than $150,000 to design just the cover of their 2017 federal budget. Or, to put it in terms that Liberals would understand: two moving vans from Toronto to Ottawa. But that’s okay, right? Because it’s not like the government is running a huge deficit or anything? What, it is? Oh. But still, you can’t put a price on something like this!

Actually, you can put a price on it: $157,000. (That’s the official total. Other reports put it at a cool $212,230. So who knows?) Welcome to a New Era of Accountability™!
