Let’s get one thing out of the way—I’m a total sucker for love. Whether it’s Disney princesses, or spending way too much time hoping the Alien and Comanche warrior in Prey would just bang already, I can’t help but root for love in all its forms. There’s something so comforting about a good love story. In a world that can feel overwhelming at times, I think we’re still betting on love, still searching for that one person who gets us, quirks and all.

When it comes to romance tropes, I’m a grumpy/sunshine girl through and through. Give me opposites attract, with him brooding in the corner while she shines her light all over the place—because being authentically herself is the most beautiful thing of all.

Writing A Recipe for Romance feels poetic to me. It’s been a dream in the making for as long as I can remember. My family always prophesied that I’d write a book someday—probably because I’ve always been the enthusiastic storyteller who bet on love at every turn. Seeing this book published is bittersweet. The person I would have loved to share this moment with the most—my gran—is no longer a part of my life. That might be why it took me so long to finally write the chef romance I’d always dreamed of.

This book feels like a love letter to the things she believed in me, but also a declaration of my own journey—doing things on my terms, in my own time. Writing it allowed me to shake off the pressures from my family, to grow, and to glow in my own way.

I’m so glad I finally told the love story that’s been in my heart for years, and while A Recipe for Romance is only the beginning, it’s the start of something I’m really proud of. For now, my real-life world doesn’t know about this book, or the ones to come, but I’m thankful that I get to share it with you. And I can’t wait for the stories we’ll share together in the future.
