Writing the adventures of Rube Goldberg has been a dream come true. Joyous, emotional, and surprising.

None of it would’ve happened without Jennifer George. Her infinite wisdom of all things Rube is unparalleled, but it was her trust that meant the most. Jennifer shared the vision from day one. You can’t ask for much more than that. I’m forever grateful for her support and encouragement.

Russ Busse and I have worked together before, but this time it felt extra special. He’s a sharp editor and a good guy. Over the course of making this book, he also became a father! The writing process, no matter how good it feels, can be stressful. But one chat with Russ always makes me feel better. I’m thankful he’s steering this ship.

The reason you probably bought this book is because of that gorgeous Ed Steckley cover. I don’t blame you. His work is beautifully expressive. His attention to detail is mesmerizing. Everything he draws has energy and life. Crafting Rube’s machines is a skill, and I have no idea how Ed makes it look so effortless. We’re lucky to have him.

Richard Slovak, thank you for making me look good. You’re a king.
