APP: Cell phones are a must-have item. Without them, we’d be lost. I overheard a girl talking with her friends say, “How did people ever survive without cell phones?” They did, but it’s hardly an option anymore. Think about the selections we can choose from when it comes to technology. There are hundreds of handsets available and even more apps, depending on your equipment. I can only imagine the choices that will be accessible in the future. It makes my brain hurt!
Every day we make dozens of choices. How we choose to live today will determine how we live tomorrow. We’re products today of the choices we’ve made in the past. And our future’s being directly affected by the choices we’re making right now. What kind of choices are you making? Are you happy with the results? It’s all about learning to choose what’s best instead of just settling for whatever seems easy at the time. Using God’s Word as a filter can help us make better choices. But it’s going to take time to learn what the Bible teaches and how to apply it to our lives.
“And if you be unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
JOSHUA 24:15 RSV
The human mind plans the way, but the LORD directs the steps.
PROVERBS 16:9 NRSV
“But only God has wisdom and power, good advice and understanding.”
JOB 12:13 NCV
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
PROVERBS 3:5–6 NASB
Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.
PSALM 119:105 GWT
