APP: Satan has done an amazing job to confuse us about his real identity. Lots of movies, TV shows, video games, music, and Web sites characterize him as something totally different from reality. Satan is portrayed as everything from a clownlike buffoon to a hideous part-animal/alien monster. He is a brilliant strategist whose arsenal of weapons includes everything from false teaching to distractions. This just makes us all the more vulnerable to his deception and tricks. No wonder so many people don’t take him seriously today.
If you don’t believe that your enemy is real, then you won’t worry about being attacked. Satan’s goal is to confuse and disarm us. That’s why it’s so important to understand what’s going on from a biblical worldview. We need to know what the Bible teaches about the devil so we have an accurate picture of his true character. It’s important not to underestimate him, but we also need to remember that he is a mortally wounded foe. God’s Word is the ultimate source of truth and a vital weapon against Satan.
Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings.
